But first a quick story….
Before I figured out what I’m about to share with you. My network marketing life was a wreck! Lol. I had no clue what I was doing and it showed in my results. (I had none) 🙁
I was confused, overwhelmed, and running out of money. In fact, I did run out of money, and could no longer afford to pay for the few tools that I was just starting to create some momentum on. But the problem there, was that I couldn’t even duplicate my own results. I was done….
Fast forward a couple of brutal years of which I’ll spare you the details. April and I decided to give it another shot!
This time was different, we needed to figure out how to make a marketing plan.
This was our crucial “first step”. So we turned to the marketing community that we were a part of for some answers. Here’s what we figured out, and still holds true for all of our marketing plans.
The first thing you need to do, is identify your target audience. Who is the person that is most likely to buy your stuff, or join your opportunity? This is referred to as your customer avatar. For example, if your product is dog collars, you want dog owners right?
Okay, the second step in learning how to make a marketing plan. Find out where your audience hangs out! We’ll use the dog owner again. Where do they hang out? Dog parks, local rec areas, pet washes, you get the point. You’re not going to sell a lot of dog collars at the PTO meeting right?
Step number three! Find out what your audience needs. It’s time to diversify your inventory. Maybe they need multiple colors and sizes. Maybe they want something that’s more affordable. Maybe they want something that won’t fall off the dog! The point is, do some research. Find the pain point, I wish I could find an affordable dog collar that my dog can’t get out of. I know that might be reaching a bit for an example, Lol, but hey I’m not a dog owner, and my product isn’t dog collars! Hahaha
Last but not least, provide your audience with exactly what they want! You know who they are, you know where they hang out, and you know what they need. The hard part’s done, now it’s time to go and make some money!
