About a year ago, we were just hitting our stride with our Instagram marketing.
We were regularly generating 5+ leads a day, had made our first sales, and recruited our first member into our biz-op.
Things were finally looking up!
It was time to expand our marketing. And I noticed a cool little trend in what I was sharing on my Twitter account.
I was getting multiple re-tweets and likes on the very same content that I was sharing on Instagram.
All I was doing, was just clicking the little share to Twitter button every time I posted! That’s it. The pics weren’t even there, just quotes from famous people with a link to the IG pic. So that told me a couple of things.
- People were reading my tweets
- People didn’t really like what I had previously been tweeting
What an eye opener! I had built up a following on Twitter of around 14k. But the account was basically dormant. I was just sharing old blog and article content, not really getting a whole lot of interest.
But one thing was for sure, people were really digging what I was sharing on Instagram!
So the wheels started turning.
My Twitter account was officially a mess at this point though. So I did a little house cleaning, tightened up my message, and charged forward with the intention of growing my Twitter account again.
I continued to share my Instagram stuff from there, and added a growth strategy with Twitter. What I did, was started following people, to get them to follow back. Twitter allows for you to follow up to around 1,000 accounts a day! That seemed crazy to me at first. But I decided to give it a shot.
The original intent was to just grow my following and see how many re-tweets I could get on some of my Instagram stuff. But I was pleasantly surprised! I woke up the next day with not only my usual Instagram leads, but I doubled it up overnight with Twitter leads as well.
So I repeated my steps from the day before and BAM! It happened again! More fresh leads from Twitter and Instagram. And this continued for months. We went from generating about 50-100 leads a month to over 300 leads a month! Consistently! And we even had weeks where we were signing people up into our business daily! All because of a happy little marketing merger of Instagram and Twitter!
If you get anything from this post, let it be the fact that it’s okay to reach out a little further beyond your comfort zone and experiment with some additional strategies. You never know what actually might take hold, and push you up over the next level in your business!
It’s all about staying consistent and keeping the course.
Our strategy really hasn’t changed much to this day over a year later. And we now use the traffic we generate on Twitter to not only boost our Instagram stuff, we build our YouTube channel, Facebook pages, and blog traffic residually with this same strategy that pulls in 15-25 leads daily without fail.
So while I’ve heard others say that Twitter leads can be kind of garbage, my question to you is: Are you on Twitter? Do you think of yourself as a crappy lead?
