Instagram Stories is Instagram’s answer to Snapchat. It’s not as crazy as Snapchat, but it definitely can be used for more exposure for our businesses!
I’ve been playing with it for several days now with some mixed results. But there’s a couple things that have happened, that have been pretty cool!
First off, let’s talk about what Instagram Stories is. It’s a a quick “check-in” type of feature. That allows you to add videos and pictures in a story timeline. That shows up when people click your profile picture in the mobile Instagram application.
Pictures stay on your Instagram story for 24 hours. During that 24 hours yo can download the story pic, and then do whatever you want with it.
When you post to Instagram Stories, there’s a few options that you have for adding text, drawing on your picture, and a couple of filters you can check out.
Now the beneficial stuff actually happens after you post. Now your face will appear at the top of your follower’s timelines, so that they can view the newest frame of your story.
What I’ve been seeing, is that there’s been an average of 150-200 more eyeballs on each of my posts. And if you’re sharing good quality content. And your account is set up the right way.
That means a big uptick in visitors to your profile and website!
Overall, I think that the Instagram Stories feature could use a little work. But I also think that it provides a nice little boost of traffic to my profile. And I’m not going to ignore a feature that the platform is obviously going to push out to, and put new content in front of all of it’s users.
Which is a good deal for those of us that don’t mind trying out new things. And then utilizing them for more growth in our businesses.
It’s all about leverage with any social media. And Instagram’s still very relevant. So if the platform that you’re using to promote your business decides to offer up some new features. You should definitely learn to leverage them for something.
Because the one’s that do, are the ones that are going to the next level!
So I’ve now gotten into the habit of sharing my new Instagram posts on my Instagram Stories feed as well.
It’s as simple as this. More eyeballs = more leads and sales with Instagram.
No sweat off of my back. I’m already creating the content! So it’s really easy to add them to my Instagram Story! And you should too!
